Beatriz Welch has spent a good deal of time in Texas and New Mexico, and her works reflect the warm colors of these states. Having lived in many countries, she remembers the mountains of native South America and the mists of and coolness of Ireland, as well as the vastness of North Africa’s beautiful coasts; all of which continue to influence her perceptions.
Her formal art education was in Madrid, Spain and in Dublin, Ireland. In the United States, she has attended a number of workshops, including a Master Class on outdoor landscape painting with Scott Christensen.
Her work has been accepted at OPA (Oil Painters of America) and AIS (American Impressionist Society). Her landscape AT Sunset was chosen among 100 artists worldwide for the book “How Did You Paint That?”, a publication of International Art Magazine.
Beatriz has been a docent at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth for many years, deepening her never-failing interest in the history of art. Thus the constant challenge of new subjects stretches her abilities as an artist and allows her to return to her favorite subjects with new knowledge and perception in painting.
